Dilweg lands Emory Nursing Hub and Simulation Center, Bringing Asset to 100% Leased

DURHAM, N.C. (July 1, 2020) – The Dilweg Companies (TDC) announced today that it has signed a nearly 70,000 square foot lease with Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at 250 Ponce (250 E. Ponce de Leon) in Decatur, GA.

250 Ponce, owned and operated by TDC, is a 141,582 square foot office building that offers a Class A experience located only steps from the downtown Historic Decatur Square.

Decatur is an oasis of smart urban planning surrounded by top-ranked educational and medical facilities. Emory has contracted The Beck Group to renovate the space and design portions of four floors to focus on simulation, innovation, and team building. When finished, 250 E. Ponce will be home to the largest simulation center in Metro Atlanta.

“We are thrilled to welcome Emory Nursing to 250 Ponce. Emory School of Nursing plans to create the largest simulation center in Metro Atlanta to provide training and education to health care professionals,” said Jerry Banks, Managing Director of Asset Enhancement at The Dilweg Companies. “Adding this high-quality organization brings this asset to 100% leased and demonstrates the success of our strategy to transform and reposition this well-located Class A office asset.”

TDC originally purchased 250 E. Ponce in 2016 with plans to reposition the high-quality asset in the thriving submarket of Decatur and expand its Atlanta office footprint. TDC has successfully executed that vision by bringing 250 Ponce to 100% leased. Today, the firm currently owns and operates nearly 2.2 million square feet in Atlanta and 5.7 million square feet across the Southeast U.S.

Scott O’Halloran, Michael Tucker, and Scotland Wright of Scotland Wright Associates represented Emory School of Nursing in the lease negotiation. R. Kirk Rich and Chris Godfrey of Avison Young represented The Dilweg Companies and 250 Ponce in the deal.
